Proclaim Conference 2017

The Local Church

Pillar & Support of the Truth

25 - 27 of May, 2017

Thursday 9:00am  through  Saturday 2:00pm

I write so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of
the living God, the pillar and support of the truth. 1 Tim 3:15

God has established three major institutions on this earth: the family, civil government, and the local church. It is the local assembly of believers which has been commissioned by God with the Great Commission to carry out his purposes in reaching the lost and equipping the saved. Therefore, God’s plan for a Christian will always be fulfilled best when fully committed to a local assembly of like-minded believers living the way God has intended. The local church provides an invaluable place of fellowship and identification with Christ and with other believers.

1 Timothy 3:15 clearly establishes the local church as the centerpiece of God’s work in this age. In 1 Timothy Paul uses two chapters to help his apprentice church leader Timothy understand how the local church functions —the place of prayer, the role of women, and the qualifications for the offices of overseer and deacon are all defined. Verse 15 states his purpose for writing these things: "so that you will know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth." The local assembly is the place where God has assigned responsibility for upholding His truth and living in a way that pleases Him.

Proclaim 2017 will dwell on the importance of the local church and how we should relate to it as Christians. During the conference, pastors and bible teachers will help us understand our joyful privilege to actively engage in a faithful, bible-believing local church.
